Writer's Statement

BLUFF is a Sci-Fi Action, Love Drama as I like to call it. In life, everyone bluffs, some more than others. The problem with bluffing is that it can become second nature and the line between reality and fiction becomes thinner and thinner. Each character has their bluff in its own unique form. However their bluff cost them things....

Originally, I wanted to write a story about a man who is a victim of his own paranoia. I started writing and when I finished the first version, the story had morphed into its own narrative that resembles very little of what I had intended. And so...I went with it. There is still that little hint of paranoia or the deep seeded feeling that no one in this world...can be trusted. As essentially distrust is the necessary ingredient to bluff.      

The key themes are redemption, sacrifice and the power of love. Racism is touched on in the show as we live in a world where it exist, unfortunately. However, it is sprinkled in very subtle just as it sometimes presents itself in real life. This is done purposefully as I did not want racism to overshadow the spiritual experience these characters have.
